1 이와 더불어 주의 말씀이 나에게 임하였으니, 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.

1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 “사람의 아들아, 세일산을 대적하여 너의 얼굴을 고정시키고 그것을 대적하여 예언하라.

2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

3 그리고 그것에 말하라. 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 오, 세일산아, 내가 너를 대적하노라. 그런즉 내가 너를 대적하여 나의 손을 뻗겠노라. 그리하여 내가 너를 지극히 황량하게 하겠노라.

3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

4 내가 너의 도시들을 황폐하게 하겠으니, 너는 황량해지리라. 그리하면 너는 내가 주라는 것을 알게 되리라.

4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

5 이는 네가 영속적인 증오를 품었고, 이스라엘 자녀들의 재난의 때에, 곧 그들의 죄악이 끝났던 때에 칼의 위력으로 그들의 피를 흘렸기 때문이라.

5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end:

6 그러므로 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 주 하나님이 말하노라. 내가 너를 피에 이르도록 예비하겠고, 피가 너를 추격하리라. 네가 피를 증오하지 아니한 이후로, 바로 그 피가 너를 추격하리라.

6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee.

7 이와 같이 내가 세일산을 지극히 황량하게 하고, 지나서 나가거나 되돌아오는 자를 그곳으로부터 끊겠노라.

7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.

8 그리하여 내가 그의 살해당한 사람들로 그의 산들을 채우겠으니, 곧 너의 언덕들 안과 너의 골짜기들 안과 너의 모든 강들 안에서 칼로 살해당한 자들이 쓰러지리라.

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword.

9 내가 너를 영속적인 황무지들로 만들겠으니, 너의 도시들이 되돌아오지 못하리라. 그리하면 너희는 내가 주라는 것을 알게 되리라.

9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

10 이는 네가 말하기를, ‘이 두 민족들과 이 두 나라들이 나의 것이 되리니, 우리가 그것을 소유하겠노라.’ 하였도다. 그런데 거기에는 주가 있었노라.

10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there:

11 그러므로 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 주 하나님이 말하노라. 내가 실로 너의 분노에 따라, 또 그들을 대적하는 너의 증오에서 네가 이용해 온 너의 시기에 따라 행하겠노라. 그리하여 내가 너를 심판하였을 때 나는 그들 가운데서 나 자신을 알리겠노라.

11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee.

12 그리하여 너는 내가 주라는 것과, 너의 모든 신성 모독들을 내가 들었다는 것을 알게 되리니, 네가 이스라엘의 산들을 대적하여 일러 말하기를, ‘그것들이 황량함에 놓였으며, 그것들은 우리에게 소멸시키라고 주어졌도다.’ 하였도다.

12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.

13 이와 같이 너희가 너희의 입으로 나를 거슬러 자랑하였고 나를 대적하여 너희 말들을 늘렸도다. 내가 그것들을 들었노라.

13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

14 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 온 땅이 크게 기뻐할 때 내가 너를 황량하게 하겠노라.

14 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate.

15 이스라엘 집의 유산이 황량해진 까닭에 네가 그것을 크게 기뻐하였듯이, 내가 그와 같이 너에게 행하겠노라. 오, 세일산과 온 이두메아, 곧 그곳의 모든 곳들아, 너는 황량해지리라. 그리하면 그들은 내가 주라는 것을 알게 되리라.

15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
