1 이후에 하나님의 영께서 오뎃의 아들 아자리야 위에 임하셨더라.
1 And the Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded:
2 그리고 그가 아사를 맞이하러 나갔으며 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “아사와 온 유다와 베냐민아, 너희는 나의 말을 들으라. 너희가 그분과 함께 있는 동안은 주께서 너희와 함께 계시니, 만일 너희가 그분을 찾는다면 그분께서 너희에게 발견되시리라. 그러나 만일 너희가 그분을 저버린다면 그분께서 너희를 저버리시리라.
2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
3 이제 이스라엘은 오랜 시기 동안 참 하나님 없이, 가르치는 제사장 하나도 없이, 율법 없이 지내왔노라.
3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
4 그러나 그들이 자신들의 곤경 속에서 이스라엘의 주 하나님께 돌이키고 그분을 찾았을 때, 그분께서 그들에 의하여 발견되셨느니라.
4 But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
5 그런즉 그 당시에 나가는 자에게나, 들어오는 자에게도 평안이 없었으며, 오히려 크나큰 번민들이 모든 지방들의 거주자들 위에 있었도다.
5 And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, nor to him that came in, but great vexations were upon all the inhabitants of the countries.
6 그리고 민족이 민족에게, 도시가 도시에게 멸망당하였느니라. 이는 하나님께서 모든 역경들로 그들을 괴롭게 하셨기 때문이라.
6 And nation was destroyed of nation, and city of city: for God did vex them with all adversity.
7 그러므로 너희는 강건하고 너희의 손이 약해지지 않게 하라. 이는 너희의 일이 보상받을 것이기 때문이라.”
7 Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.
8 그리하여 아사가 이 말들과 예언자 오뎃의 예언을 들었을 때 그는 용기를 얻어 가증한 우상들을 유다와 베냐민의 온 영토에서, 또 그가 에프라임산에서부터 점령한 도시들에서 치워 버렸더라. 그리고 주의 주랑 앞에 있던 주의 제단을 재건하였더라.
8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD.
9 그리고 그가 온 유다와 베냐민을 모았고, 에프라임과 므낫세에서, 또 시므온에서 나와 그들과 함께 있는 타국인들을 모았더라. 이는 그들이 주 그의 하나님께서 그와 함께 계신 것을 보았을 때 그들이 수없이 많이 이스라엘에서 나와서 그에게 합류하였기 때문이라.
9 And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon: for they fell to him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him.
10 이처럼 그들이 아사의 통치 제십오년 셋째 달에 스스로 예루살렘에 함께 모였더라.
10 So they gathered themselves together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa.
11 그리고 같은 시간에 그들은 자신들이 가져온 노획물 중에서 칠백 마리의 소들과 칠천 마리의 양들을 주께 바쳤더라.
11 And they offered unto the LORD the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
12 그리고 그들은 자기 조상들의 주 하나님을 찾으려고 그들의 마음을 다하고 그들의 혼을 다하여 언약 안으로 들어갔더라.
12 And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
13 즉, 누구든지 이스라엘의 주 하나님을 찾으려 하지 아니하는 자는 작은 자든 큰 자든, 남자든 여자든 간에 사형에 처해져야 한다는 것이었더라.
13 That whosoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.
14 그러면서 그들이 주께 큰 목소리와 함성과 나팔들과 뿔나팔들로 맹세하였더라.
14 And they sware unto the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
15 그러자 온 유다가 그 맹세를 크게 기뻐하였더라. 이는 그들이 그들의 마음을 다하여 맹세하였고 그들의 온전한 열망으로 그분을 찾았기 때문이라. 이에 그분께서 그들에게 발견되어 주셨고 주께서 그들에게 주위에 안식을 주셨더라.
15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.
16 ¶ 그리고 또한 아사왕의 어머니 마아카와 관련하여 그가 그녀를 태후의 자리에서 물러나게 하였으니, 그녀가 작은 수풀에 우상을 만들었기 때문이라. 그리고 아사가 그녀의 우상을 베어 쓰러뜨렸으며 그것을 짓밟고 그것을 키드론 시내에서 태웠더라.
16 ¶ And also concerning Maachah the mother of Asa the king, he removed her from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove: and Asa cut down her idol, and stamped it, and burnt it at the brook Kidron.
17 그러나 높은 처소들은 이스라엘에서 제거되지 아니하였더라. 그럼에도 불구하고 아사의 마음은 그의 모든 날들 동안 완전하였더라.
17 But the high places were not taken away out of Israel: nevertheless the heart of Asa was perfect all his days.
18 ¶ 그리고 그가 그의 아버지가 봉헌한 것들과 그 자신이 봉헌한 것들을 하나님의 집 안으로 들였으니, 곧 은과 금과 기물들이라.
18 ¶ And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
19 그리고 아사의 통치 제삼십오년까지 더 이상 전쟁이 없었더라.
19 And there was no more war unto the five and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa.
