1 이후에 히스키야가 온 이스라엘과 유다에 사람을 보냈고 에프라임과 므낫세에도 편지들을 썼으니, 그들이 이스라엘의 주 하나님께 유월절을 지키기 위하여 예루살렘에 있는 주의 집으로 와야 한다고 하였더라.
1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel.
2 이는 왕이 둘째 달에 유월절을 지키려고 그의 통치자들과 예루살렘에 있는 온 회중이 의논하였기 때문이라.
2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the congregation in Jerusalem, to keep the passover in the second month.
3 이는 제사장들이 자신들을 충분히 성결하게 구별하지 못하였고 백성도 예루살렘으로 스스로 함께 모이지 아니한 까닭에 그들이 그것을 제때에 지킬 수 없었기 때문이라.
3 For they could not keep it at that time, because the priests had not sanctified themselves sufficiently, neither had the people gathered themselves together to Jerusalem.
4 그런즉 그것이 왕과 온 회중을 기쁘게 하였더라.
4 And the thing pleased the king and all the congregation.
5 그렇게 하여 그들이 온 이스라엘을 통틀어 베르셰바에서 단에 이르기까지 포고령을 제정하는 칙령을 확립하였으니, 그들이 와서 이스라엘의 주 하나님께 유월절을 지켜야 한다는 것이더라. 이는 오랜 시간 동안 그들이 그것이 기록된 대로 그런 식으로는 그것을 이행하지 아니하였기 때문이라.
5 So they established a decree to make proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel at Jerusalem: for they had not done it of a long time in such sort as it was written.
6 그와 같이 전달자들이 온 이스라엘과 유다를 통틀어 왕과 그의 통치자들의 편지들을 가지고 가서, 왕의 명령에 따라 이같이 말하였더라. “너희, 이스라엘 자녀들아, 아브라함과 이삭과 이스라엘의 주 하나님께로 다시 돌이키라. 그리하면 그분께서도 아시리아 왕들의 손에서 벗어난 너희 남은 자들에게로 되돌아오시리라.
6 So the posts went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, Ye children of Israel, turn again unto the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and he will return to the remnant of you, that are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
7 그리고 너희는 너희 조상들처럼 되지 말고 너희 형제들처럼 되지 말라. 그들은 그들 조상들의 주 하나님을 대적하여 범법하였으므로 그분께서 그들을 황량함에 버리신 것이 너희가 보는 바와 같도다.
7 And be not ye like your fathers, and like your brethren, which trespassed against the LORD God of their fathers, who therefore gave them up to desolation, as ye see.
8 너희는 이제 너희 조상들이 그러하였던 것같이 고개를 뻣뻣하게 하지 말고 주께 너희 자신을 내어 드리며 그분께서 영원토록 성결하게 구별하신 그분의 성소 안으로 들어가라. 그리하여 주 너희 하나님을 섬겨 그분의 진노의 맹렬함이 너희에게서 돌이켜 떠나게 하라.
8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath may turn away from you.
9 이는 만일 너희가 다시 주께 돌이킨다면 너희의 형제들과 너희의 자녀들은 그들을 포로로 끌고 간 자들 앞에서 연민을 발견하여 그들이 다시 이 지역으로 들어올 것이기 때문이요, 만일 너희가 그분께 되돌아온다면 주 너희 하나님께서는 은혜로우시고 자비로우셔서, 그분의 얼굴을 너희에게서 다른 데로 돌리지 아니하실 것이기 때문이라.”
9 For if ye turn again unto the LORD, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.
10 그렇게 하여 전달자들이 도시에서 도시까지 에프라임과 므낫세 지방을 관통하여 스불룬까지 이르렀더라. 그러나 저들은 그들을 경멸하여 비웃었고 그들을 조롱하였더라.
10 So the posts passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh even unto Zebulun: but they laughed them to scorn, and mocked them.
11 그럼에도 불구하고 아셸과 므낫세 출신과 스불룬 출신의 여러 사람들이 스스로를 겸손하게 하였고 예루살렘으로 왔더라.
11 Nevertheless divers of Asher and Manasseh and of Zebulun humbled themselves, and came to Jerusalem.
12 또한 유다에서는 하나님의 손이 그들에게 한마음을 주시어 주의 말씀에 따라 왕과 통치자들의 명령을 행하게 하셨더라.
12 Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.
13 ¶ 그리하여 예루살렘에는 둘째 달에 무교절을 지키려는 많은 백성이 회동하였으니, 아주 수많은 회중이었더라.
13 ¶ And there assembled at Jerusalem much people to keep the feast of unleavened bread in the second month, a very great congregation.
14 그리고 그들은 일어나서 예루살렘에 있었던 제단들을 제거하였으며, 향을 위한 모든 제단들도 그들이 제거하였으니, 그것들을 키드론 시내 안에 던졌더라.
14 And they arose and took away the altars that were in Jerusalem, and all the altars for incense took they away, and cast them into the brook Kidron.
15 둘째 달 십사 일에 비로소 그들이 유월절 어린양을 잡았더라. 이에 제사장들과 레위인들이 부끄러워하였고 자신들을 성결하게 구별하였으며 주의 집 안으로 번제물들을 가지고 들어갔더라.
15 Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the LORD.
16 그리고 그들이 하나님의 사람 모세의 율법에 따라 그들의 예법대로 그들의 위치에 섰더라. 제사장들은 레위인들의 손에서 자신들이 받은 피를 뿌렸더라.
16 And they stood in their place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God: the priests sprinkled the blood, which they received of the hand of the Levites.
17 이는 성결하게 구별되지 아니한 자들이 회중 가운데 많았으므로 레위인들에게는 정결하지 아니한 모든 개개인을 위하여 그들을 주께 성결하게 구별시키도록 유월절 어린양들을 잡을 책무가 있었기 때문이라.
17 For there were many in the congregation that were not sanctified: therefore the Levites had the charge of the killing of the passovers for every one that was not clean, to sanctify them unto the LORD.
18 이는 백성의 한 무리, 곧 에프라임과 므낫세, 잇사칼과 스불룬의 많은 이들이 자신들을 정결하게 하지 아니하였으나 그럼에도 그들이 그것이 기록된 것과 달리 유월절 어린양을 먹었기 때문이라. 그러나 히스키야가 그들을 위하여 기도하며 이같이 말하였더라. “선하신 주께서 모든 이마다 면죄해 주시기를 바라나니,
18 For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one
19 즉, 하나님, 곧 그의 조상들의 주 하나님을 자기 마음으로 찾으려고 예비하는 자는 비록 그가 성소의 정화 의식에 따라 정결하게 되지 아니하였을지라도 면죄해 주소서.”
19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.
20 그러자 주께서 히스키야에게 경청하셨고 백성을 치유하셨더라.
20 And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
21 그리고 예루살렘에 참석해 있던 이스라엘 자녀들이 크나큰 희열로 칠 일 동안 무교절을 지켰더라. 그리고 레위인들과 제사장들은 나날이 주를 찬송하면서 소리가 큰 악기들과 더불어 주께 노래하였더라.
21 And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.
22 그리고 히스키야는 주의 선한 지식을 가르친 모든 레위인들에게 격려하며 말하였더라. 그러자 그들이 칠 일 동안 명절 내내 먹으면서 화평 제물들을 드렸고 그들의 조상들의 주 하나님께 자백을 하였더라.
22 And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.
23 그리고 온 집회가 또 다른 칠 일을 지키기 위하여 의논하였더라. 그리하여 그들이 희열과 함께 또 다른 칠 일을 지켰더라.
23 And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.
24 이는 유다 왕 히스키야가 일천 마리의 수송아지들과 칠천 마리의 양들을 회중에게 주었기 때문이라. 이어서 통치자들은 일천 마리의 수송아지들과 일만 마리의 양들을 회중에게 주었더라. 그러자 제사장들 중 엄청난 수가 그들 자신을 성결하게 구별하였더라.
24 For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.
25 그리고 제사장들과 레위인들을 포함한 유다의 회중 전체와, 이스라엘에서 온 회중 전체와, 이스라엘 지역에서 온 타국인들과, 유다에 거한 타국인들이 크게 기뻐하였더라.
25 And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced.
26 그렇게 하여 예루살렘 안에 크나큰 즐거움이 있었더라. 이는 이스라엘 왕 다윗의 아들 솔로몬의 시대 이래 예루살렘에서 이와 같은 것이 없었기 때문이라.
26 So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.
27 ¶ 그때 레위인들인 제사장들이 일어나서 백성을 축복하였더라. 그리고 그들의 목소리가 들려왔으니, 그들의 기도가 그분이 거하시는 거룩한 처소, 곧 하늘에까지 올라갔더라.
27 ¶ Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
