<다윗의 기도>

<A Prayer of David.>

1 오, 주여, 옳은 것을 들으소서. 저의 부르짖음에 집중하소서. 꾸며진 입술에서 나가지 않는 제 기도를 귀담아들어 주소서.

1 Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

2 저의 판결이 당신의 면전에서 나오게 하소서. 당신의 눈들이 공평한 것들을 보게 하소서.

2 Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

3 당신께서 저의 마음을 확인해 보셨나이다. 당신께서 밤중에 저를 감찰하셨나이다. 당신께서 저를 시험하셨으나 아무것도 발견하지 못하시리이다. 제 입으로 불법을 행하지 아니할 것을 제가 결단하였나이다.

3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

4 사람들의 행위들에 관해서는, 당신의 입술의 말씀으로 인하여 제가 멸망시키는 자의 행로들에서 저를 지켰나이다.

4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

5 저의 발걸음들이 미끄러지지 아니하도록 저의 행보들을 당신의 행로들 안에서 받쳐 주소서.

5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

6 오, 하나님이여, 제가 당신을 불렀나이다. 이는 당신께서 제 말을 들으실 것이기 때문이니이다. 당신의 귀를 제게 기울이시고 저의 이야기를 들어주소서.

6 I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

7 오, 당신께서는 당신의 오른손으로, 자신들의 신뢰를 당신께 두는 자들을 대적하여 들고일어나는 자들로부터 그들을 구하시는 분이시니, 당신의 경탄스러운 인애하심을 보여 주소서.

7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

8 저를 눈동자같이 지켜 주소서. 당신의 날개들의 그늘 아래 저를 숨겨 주소서.

8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

9 저를 압제하는 사악한 자들로부터, 저의 주위를 둘러싼 채 생명을 앗아가려는 저의 원수들로부터 지켜 주소서.

9 From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10 그들은 자기 자신의 지방 속에 에워싸여 있나이다. 그들은 자신들의 입으로 교만하게 말하나이다.

10 They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

11 그들은 이제 우리의 걸음들 가운데서 우리를 둘러쌌나이다. 그들은 아래로 땅까지 숙인 채 자신들의 눈을 고정하였나이다.

11 They have now compassed us in our steps: they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

12 사자가 그의 먹이를 탐내는 것처럼, 마치 비밀스러운 장소들에서 잠복해 있는 젊은 사자같이 그리하였나이다.

12 Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13 오, 주여, 일어나소서. 그를 좌절시키소서. 그를 던져 버리소서. 당신의 칼이 된 사악한 자로부터 저의 혼을 구출하소서.

13 Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword:

14 오, 주여, 당신의 손이 된 사람들로부터, 자신들의 몫을 이생에서 얻은 세상 사람들로부터 저의 혼을 구출하소서. 당신께서 당신의 숨겨진 보물로 그들의 배를 채우시나이다. 그들은 자녀들이 가득하고, 그들의 아기들에게 자신들의 재물의 나머지를 남기나이다.

14 From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15 저로 말하자면, 저는 의 가운데서 당신의 얼굴을 보겠나이다. 제가 깨어날 때면 제가 당신의 외관으로 만족하리이다.

15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
