1 오, 하나님이여, 저희가 저희의 귀로 들었으며 저희의 조상들이 저희에게 알렸나니, 옛 시대들에, 곧 그들의 날들에 당신께서 어떤 역사를 행하셨는지,
1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.
2 어떻게 당신께서 당신의 손으로 이교도들을 내쫓으시고 저희 조상들을 심으셨는지, 어떻게 당신께서 백성들을 괴롭히셨고 그들을 쫓아내셨는지 하는 것이니이다.
2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out.
3 이는 그들이 그들 자신의 칼로 그 지역을 차지하여 소유한 것이 아니었고, 그들 자신의 팔이 그들을 구원한 것도 아니기 때문이니이다. 오직 당신의 오른손과 당신의 팔과 당신의 얼굴빛이 구원하셨으니, 당신께서 그들에게 호의를 베푸셨기 때문이니이다.
3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
4 오, 하나님이여, 당신께서는 나의 왕이시니이다. 야곱을 위한 구출들을 명령하소서.
4 Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
5 당신을 통하여 저희가 저희의 원수들을 아래로 누르겠나이다. 그들이 저희를 대적하여 일어나지 못하도록 당신의 이름을 통하여 저희가 그들을 짓밟겠나이다.
5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.
6 이는 제가 저의 활을 신뢰하지 아니할 것이기 때문이요, 저의 칼이 저를 구원하지도 아니할 것이기 때문이니이다.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
7 오직 당신께서 저희를 저희의 원수들로부터 구원하셨고 저희를 증오한 자들이 수치를 당하게 하셨나이다.
7 But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us.
8 저희는 온종일 하나님을 자랑하고 당신의 이름을 영원토록 찬송하나이다. 셀라.
8 In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah.
9 그러나 당신께서 저희를 버리시어 수치를 당하게 하셨으며 저희의 군사들과 함께 나아가지 아니하시나이다.
9 But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies.
10 당신께서 저희로 하여금 원수로부터 후퇴하게 하시나이다. 그런즉 저희를 증오하는 자들은 그들 자신을 위하여 약탈하나이다.
10 Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.
11 음식으로 정해진 양처럼 당신께서 저희를 내주셨나이다. 그리하여 저희를 이교도들 사이에 흩으셨나이다.
11 Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen.
12 당신께서 당신의 백성을 무상으로 파시며 그들의 값으로 당신의 부를 늘리지 아니하시나이다.
12 Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price.
13 당신께서 저희를 저희의 이웃들에게 비방거리로 만드시나니, 저희 주위에 있는 자들에게 경멸스러운 것과 웃음거리로 만드시나이다.
13 Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
14 당신께서 저희를 이교도들 사이에서 조롱거리가 되게 하시니, 곧 백성들 가운데서 머리를 내저음이 되게 하시나이다.
14 Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.
15 저의 당혹감이 계속해서 제 앞에 있고, 저의 얼굴의 수치가 저를 덮었나이다.
15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
16 이는 비방하고 모욕하는 자의 음성으로 인한 것이요, 원수와 복수하는 자로 인한 것이니이다.
16 For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger.
17 이 모든 것이 저희에게 임하였나이다. 그럼에도 저희는 당신을 잊지 아니하였으며, 저희는 당신의 언약을 거짓되이 다루지도 아니하였나이다.
17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
18 저희의 마음은 뒤바뀌지 아니하였고, 저희의 걸음들은 당신의 길에서 벗어나지 아니하였나이다.
18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
19 당신께서 용들의 처소에서 저희를 심하게 부러뜨리셨고 사망의 그림자로 저희를 덮으셨을지라도 그리하였나이다.
19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 만일 저희가 우리 하나님의 이름을 잊었거나 어떤 타국 신에게 저희의 손을 뻗었다면
20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
21 하나님께서 이것을 샅샅이 찾아내지 아니하시겠나이까? 이는 그분께서 마음의 비밀들을 아시기 때문이니이다.
21 Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22 진정 당신을 위하여 저희가 온종일 죽임을 당하나이다. 저희가 도살당할 양같이 여겨지나이다.
22 Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 오, 주여, 깨소서. 어찌하여 당신께서 주무시고 계시나이까? 일어나소서. 저희를 영원토록 버리지 마소서.
23 Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.
24 당신께서 어찌 당신의 얼굴을 숨기시며 저희의 고난과 저희의 압제를 잊으시나이까?
24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25 이는 저희의 혼이 아래로 구부러져 진토에 닿았기 때문이니이다. 저희의 배는 흙에 붙어 있나이다.
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
26 저희의 도움을 위하여 일어나시고 당신의 자비들로 인하여 저희를 구속하소서.
26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake.
